Safety wears are clothings worn for work, especially for work which involves manual labour.
SHOES
A steel-toe boot (also known as a safety boot or safety shoe) is a durable boot or shoe that has a protective reinforcement in the toe which protects the foot from falling objects or compression, usually combined with a mid sole plate to protect against punctures from below.
Traditionally they are made of steel, but the reinforcement can also be made of a composite material (like plastic or aluminum). Steel-toe boots are important in the construction industry and in many industrial settings. Safety footwear now are created in many styles, including sneakers and clogs and they could be made in formal or informal style. Shoes must have the CE mark in order to be considered antiaccident. Normally, safety shoes are divided in three great categories:
- safety footwears, tested according the ISO 20345 regulations
- protection footwears, tested according the ISO 20346 regulations
- job footwears, tested according the ISO 20347 regulations
The prevued footwears in a building yards must have at least this requirements:
- good stability
- ferrule resistent to bumps
- anticorrosive metallic parts
- protections against electrostatic stations
KNEE PAD
A kneepad is a protection that is worn on one or both the knees to protect them from the impact with something, the rubbing or other things. As usual, they must have the CE mark.
GAITERS
Gaiters are garments worn over the shoes and lower pants leg, primarily used as personal protective equipment. Originally, gaiters were made of leather, but today, gaiters are commonly made of plasticized synthetic cloth such as polyester.
VISIBILITY
Today all those people who work in building yards or in proximity of them obligatorily have to wear fluorescent and refracting garments CE marked in conformity to the requisites of the UNI EN 471 norm.
